I displayed my protest on this platform against Gov.Wike’s visit to Kaduna because he excluded a visit to Southern Kadana or an interface with our community/religious leaders. I wore a stone face because he visited Benue state in 2021( a clime-facing pogrom like us) and showered them with moral and material support. So, I equated his action to preparing different sauces for the goose and the gander.
While registering my legit protest, I used the word “WE”, severely. Surprisingly, some ideologically barren personas pushed some senseless counters that left the base of my take by questioning my usage of the word “WE”. Heck, is special wisdom needed to know that I am not walking alone on this matter? Can’t traducers see the support my position garnered and still garnering? They must get this clear: “WE” is not tantamount to all. “We” in that instance was a simple way of expressing multiple elements that supported my take.
I wish to state here and now that I don’t speak for you or anybody with the capacity to read and write. I speak for the voiceless—starting from my mother and fifteen other immediate family members. I speak for people who can’t speak because of some obvious reasons. I don’t speak for lumpen proletariats or people that have mortgaged their souls to party sentimentalism and materialism. I don’t and will never aspire to speak for hero worshippers or cult-followers of some political tics drinking our electoral blood.
Get this right: when I piqued “we will fight him(in this case Wike ) and the interest he presents “—I am not inviting you to join the league of his fighters. Why waste your time distancing yourself from my statement? Why dissipate energy by saying I don’t have what it takes to fight him? You’re stepping up and commenting on the matter, on my personal handle, which is a sign that I have what it takes to square off with him.
You love your tightly knotted mental chains, I hate them badly. Why not invest your time in admiring slavish chains around your weak wrists? Abandoning that duty and diverting your attention to my protest and resolution is senseless. A slave must be faithful to his duties 24/7.
I will keep writing for “us” or using “we” because I have the right to do so. There is no stopping me. Beseeching you to find a way of dealing with my unpalatable and unpleasant positions else…
